Manic Monday, Spring

Today's Manic Monday word:
SPRING.

We have a Momma Robin that loves our camellia bush. Last year we had 3 baby birds, and looks like she's looking for a repeat. I love to watch them grow, it happens so fast! One day they're all beak with weak little wobbly necks, and before you know it they're balls of fluff, ready to fly away...

Last year, when they were tiny babies, we had an awful terrible thunderstorm come through. The wind was really blowing hard, and there was lightening and hard rain. I was so worried about my baby birds!! Mr. Incredible set up a ladder next to the camellia bush and propped an umbrella on top it. He secured it so it wouldn't blow away, and the next day the birds (and their nest) were intact and dry...

Oh that brings up memories of the babies birds in our greanium pot in the front porch when I was living in CT (1968?)

Kudos to DH for being such a good guy!

Life renewal...mother nature's message for tomorrow.

That is one of the sweetest things I've ever heard. I saw a couple of birds protecting an area in our backyard yesterday, but I haven't scouted for a nest.

And, in our front yard yesterday, was a rabbit!

Yay, spring.

What a wonderful story. We have several boxes on our fence that have become the yearly home of some chickadees. It is always such a thrill when the tiny babies find their way to the plum tree.

Wow - Mr. Incredible is just that! Nice story.

Sorry about your Tigers. I'm mourning my Bulldogs' demise as well. Don't hold my hubby's affiliations against me, 'kay?

What a great story. Always a great sign of Spring is the nests with eggs. We have been watching the birds build the last few weeks. We should be hearing babies shortly. Loved the saving the nest part. What a wonderful thing to do. Happy MM.

Oh wow, what a wonderful picture, and a great story too. No wonder you call him "Mr Incredible" :)

I don't think I've seen many birds nests here, I wish we had one. Those robins eggs are so gorgeous, great picture!

Wonderful photo of the robin eggs. The ladder must still be up by the camellia bush. Mr Incredible sounds like a pretty wonderful guy.

Last year I had a robin raise her young in my carport, but so far I don't see any signs of her coming back this year.

You really must be a month ahead of us in the weather/spring scheme.
Our robins have just returned & are scouting out nest sites.
And how jealous am I still of your camellia? Every time you post about I turn green with envy!
cheers,
mo

Oh, how fun! And what beautiful eggs those are.

I remember last year having such a great time watching a webcam a couple in Cordova had trained on some baby birds. It was fascinating!

What a FANTASTIC photo! What beautiful blue eggs! Oh, I'm so envious! We have mockingbirds nesting in our grapefruit tree, but there is no easy way to get even close, and they swoop down on the cats whenever they are out in the yard.
